The Workshop

This event includes a workshop led by a professional coach all about connecting with what’s uniquely important to you and guiding you towards your dreams and ambitions, whatever they may be.  When you find and connect with your True North, like having a compass, you know where you’re headed. Safe in this knowledge, you can even dream bigger dreams and feel greater happiness and benefit to yourself and others.

In this practical and interactive session, we’ll help you to:

  • Connect with your strengths, values, and what’s truly important to you

  • You’ll identify some key areas of your life where you have dreams and aspirations

  • You’ll be ready to start considering some goals and actions that will move you towards those dreams

Dream Series - Wellington

Dream Series Instagram Wellington.png

Our Wellington Dream Series event was a huge success, all the young women had so much fun and shared some big dreams by the end of the day!

Everyone attached their dreams to our dream-catcher which will travel around the country to our other events and pick up some more dreams along the way!

Michelle Dalley and Frances Lamb facilitated an awesome and engaging workshop leading young women to appreciate their unique skill-set, discover their passions, and learn how to dream big.

Jacinta Gulasekharam delivered such an insightful keynote talking about the non-achievements behind every achievement and how to adjust your sails when the wind changes.

All the mentors made the workshop so much more personal and help guide the young women with real examples and advice from their own experiences. Holly Winton, Sophie Handford, Rachael Utumapu, Jacinta Gulasekharam, Helen Mackay, Vanisa Dhiru and Penelope Gifford.

Thank you Xero for the beautiful space you allowed us to use and for your ongoing support

We got some awesome feedback from the girls:

"It was an awesome experience"

"So inspiring and empowering"

"uplifting and inspiring event"

"I had so much fun and am now feeling so inspired and ready to take on my dream!"

Kick off 2020 by learning how to make your dreams come true, guided by a professional!

A fun night to have with like-minded 11-15 year old young women. Set meaningful goals for the upcoming year and enjoy a delicious meal across the table from awesome young female proffessionals, have the chance to talk to them and have your questions answered!

The evening was amazing! I learned so much about creating goals and how to achieve them well, I will make sure to remember those tips for a long time! It was also amazing to hear from successful women about their careers, and how young women, like me, can have any career they desire. I am definitely coming to the next event!

I really enjoyed attending this Spirit and Soul event! It was amazing to hear and speak to all the inspirational women especially the mentor on my table. I also loved the workshop with Jess and feel like I have a good set of goals planned for this year. It was really helpful to have inspirational women on each of our tables because they provided some insight and tips on how they achieved goals of their own. All in all, it was an awesome evening! Thank you very much Spirit and Soul and Jaskiran!

This event was a real eye opener. It was an excellent way of kick starting the year with knowing what goals to achieve and your purpose of this year. Before the event I thought I would struggle with goal setting but the workshop explained everything so smoothly and the discussing with the mentors really helped me get a better understanding of what I wanted to do.

Skills for Life

Logo%2B4%2Bskills%2B4%2Blife.jpg

Skills for Life was all about teaching young women life skills that they usually wouldn’t be taught as a female, like how to change a tyre, how to use hand and power tools like drills, financial literacy and many more! Attendees saved, earnt and spent virtual money, through Banqer, throughout the day, all leading up to attendees participating in an ‘auction’ at the end with lots of awesome prizes that the young women walked away with.

Who am I & Who are You

Who am I & Who are You was all about giving young women the opportunity to try different activities that could be subject, career, or life choices!

The event started with 7 lightning talks from Female Role models from all sorts of different careers, all the way from The NZ Police to a Nanotechnologist!

Following these talks, the young women did 11 rotations, each to a different ‘stall’ where they got to experience taste of what that particular career/subject was about and ask any questions that they had!

To Finish, we ran a quiz about inspiration women in New Zealand’s Past as well as Present!

When I Was Young

When I Was Young was all about having Female Role Models share the challenges they faced and how they overcame them as young women, with the young women of today.

This event featured talks from:

Jo Cribb – Ex CEO of Ministry for Women, now a gender consultant

Nicole Rosie – CEO of WorkSafe

Penny Gifford – Inspector at NZ Police

Following these talks the girls got some more time in groups to ask some other inspirational women questions as well. To finish, they all completed a challenge of creating the tallest sunflower out of only newspaper – harder than it sounds!
